Mosquito Control in the Spokane Area
Mosquitoes can make a yard difficult to enjoy, and some species can carry disease. A useful plan starts with the places they breed and rest: standing water, shaded vegetation, drainage problems, and nearby conditions that can keep activity going.
What a mosquito plan may include
We inspect the accessible treatment area, discuss water and vegetation you can address, and explain the service options suited to the property. Depending on the site and the written quote, that may include targeted treatments or In2Care mosquito stations. We explain what each method is intended to do and when follow-up is appropriate. Neighboring conditions and new rainfall can bring mosquitoes back, so no service guarantees a mosquito-free yard.
Pet-friendly and kid-safe mosquito control questions
Families rightly ask how a treatment affects children and pets. There is no universal pet-safe, child-safe, or non-toxic mosquito product. We choose methods for the site, follow the current product label, and explain preparation, placement, and when people and pets may return to treated areas. Please secure pets during service and keep them away from treatment areas or stations as directed by the technician. Tell us about play areas, ponds, gardens, beehives, and other sensitive locations before treatment.
Simple steps help between visits: empty or refresh standing water where practical, keep gutters draining, and ask us which conditions on your property matter most. Contact Backwoods for an inspection and a clear proposal.
Make Your Outdoor Space More Comfortable
A mosquito service plan aims to reduce biting activity in the areas you use, while source reduction helps limit new breeding. We explain what we can treat, what you can change between visits, and the limits created by weather or nearby properties. The written quote states the chosen method, visit schedule, and price.
Tell us if you are planning an outdoor event so we can discuss timing and realistic expectations. Mosquito control does not eliminate every mosquito or guarantee that no one will be bitten or become ill.
Contact us to describe your property and ask about availability. We will confirm whether your address and requested work are within our service area before scheduling.

We have struggled with earwigs in our home and snakes in our yard, even coming into our garage. We tried a door-to-door pest control company for over a year, but they weren’t able to resolve the issue, even with retreatments. My husband called Backwoods Pest Control and Brian came out to do a consult for us and gave us some snake scram granules the same day, knowing we were having a major issue. He was very knowledgeable and outlined a comprehensive plan to help us. We haven’t seen a snake since (we had been seeing multiple snakes each day up to that point). We signed up for the service and less than a week later, Krista came out. She was so friendly and kind and listened to our concerns, making adjustments based on the information we gave her about where we’ve been seeing bugs, etc. She let us know what to expect and was also able to tell us why our past treatments for earwigs hadn’t worked. We already saw dead bugs in treated areas before she even finished treating the rest of the house. We highly recommend Backwoods Pest Control!- Ryan & Katie Petrik
